Michael Johns on the Today Show

Did anyone catch Michael Johns on the Today Show? He was singing some Christmas Songs along with the cast. As usual, Michael was excellent.

If you're like me, you're probably still miffed that he got axed on American Idol. Many of us think he was the best performer there. We're still not sure what actually went down, but it's no secret that American Idol does not have to follow the popular vote when deciding on who stays and who goes.

I enjoyed his performance on the Today Show, as I'm sure everyone else did also. I try and follow Michael Johns wherever he shows up. I would like to see him come out with an album or at least some singles on iTune. This guy can really sing and it was so wrong of American Idol to cut him!

I look forward to Michael Johns coming out with an album once he's no longer under the control of American Idol. I'm not sure how long that will be, but whenever it is I'll be ready to buy up any album he comes out with.

I wish the tabloids would follow him more closely as well. I would like more information on what he's been up to since getting the boot on American Idol. Anyway, I'm sure we'll see more of Michael Johns in the future.

Michael Johns Top 12 American Idol

Michael Johns Top 12 American Idol

Michael Johns is going to advance in American Idol's competition into the Top 24. Michael Johns was the favorite to win a spot in the Top 24 American Idol list along with hopefuls like David Archuleta.

The next stage for Michael Johns and other American Idol hopefuls is the weekly competition rounds leading up to American Idol's Top 12. Unlike previous American Idol competition's, these are voted on by you the viewer, not determined by the judges. No one doubts that Michael Johns has what it takes to make the American Idol top 12. All that stands in the way is a poor performance or poor song choice, or perhaps even a bad night by the judges.

Michael Johns certainly has a bank of songs to choose from. However, as we've seen in the past, some American Idol hopefuls do a poor job of choosing songs and this could be Michael Johns's downfall on the American Idol stage.

Michael Johns will need the smooth yet powerful voice to help advance in the competition, no doubt. And let’s face it. There have been American Idol contestants in the past who’ve made it a long ways in the competition that wasn’t as talented as Michael Johns. But we all know that sometimes it’s not the most talented that go on to the final 12 in American Idol competition, sometimes it’s nothing more than a local favorite getting their hometown (or home state or home country…read Sanjiya) to vote for them.

Michael Johns has what it takes to make it to the Top 3 in the American Idol competition, the only question mark at this time is can it be done with a fickle crowd and can the song choices and performances go off without a hitch?

We’ll just have to turn on American Idol and watch American Idol every week to see if Michael Johns can wow the fans of American Idol.

Michael Johns

Michael Johns is a contestant on Season 7 of American Idol. Michael Johns, or Michael Lee as he used to be called, was born in Australia but has lived in L.A. since he was 18. He's now 24 and auditioned at the San Diego tryouts where he wowed the American Idol judges.

Along with Kristi Lee Cook, Michael Johns is causing somewhat of an uproar because he's a professional singer. He used to be the lead singer of the band called The Rising.

Simon compared Michael Johns to a "White Soul Singer" when Michael sang "I've been loving you too long". I think Paula enjoyed it also!

During the audition, Michael Johns sang "Light My Fire", which Paula found to be very good.

It's easy to see that Michael Johns will be a big favorite among the ladies during Season 7 of American Idol.

During Hollywood week, Michael Johns picked what I thought was a safe song for him. It was Bohemian Rhapsody. He must have felt pretty confident to sing that song instead of going for a harder song to sing. Simon also liked the song, saying it was the best performance so far this year.

I hope to see Michael Johns go all the way on Season 7 ofAmerican Idol.
